Twenty-four years on Quebec’s
roads and trails
Camping Caravaning was founded in 2001, just as Quebec’s recreational vehicle culture was leaving its niche of seasoned campers and opening up to families, retirees and newcomers. At the time, serious information about RVs, campgrounds and itineraries was scattered — or written by brands.
We made the opposite bet: an independent magazine, written by enthusiasts who camp, travel and test things themselves. No disguised advertorials, no for-hire rankings. Just the field, reported with rigor.
Twenty-four years later, the magazine publishes eleven issues per year, covers nearly a thousand Quebec campgrounds and has expanded to outdoor adventure, camp kitchen and van life — because today’s caravaning no longer looks like 2001’s.
Four universes, one shared curiosity for the field
Living with your RV
Buying, financing, insurance, vehicle types, accessories, energy optimization: our technical chronicles guide those hitting the road, whether they’re beginners or on their fifth RV.
Discovering Quebec
Private campgrounds, serviced sites, SEPAQ parks, wild camping and regional destinations: we test, compare and rank sites to help you pick the right one, at the right time.
The rolling home
Builds, solar autonomy, organization, long-distance itineraries: van life is growing in Quebec, and we document concrete solutions — not fantasies.
Beyond the campground
Trek, hiking, climbing, skiing, active outdoors: for those who get out of the RV to walk further, we explore accessible trails and expeditions.
Five non-negotiable editorial commitments
Everything is field-tested
No chronicle on a campground none of our writers has visited. No product recommended none of us has unboxed. Testing is the condition.
Absolute editorial independence
No ranking is sold. Brands don’t pay to appear in our “tops”. Our commercial partnerships are disclosed and never determine our opinion.
Identified, qualified authors
Each chronicle is signed by a team member with real expertise. Our chef trained in Chamonix, our van-lifer lives in his Sprinter, our camping columnist grew up in a travel trailer.
Regular updates
Caravaning moves fast — insurance, technology, parks, prices. We date and update our articles instead of letting them age in silence.
Reader response
We read every message. Campground suggestion, van life feedback, photo of a rock face, disagreement with a chronicle: we reply, and we correct when it’s earned.
Four voices covering the outdoor experience
An alpine chef, a van nomad, a field columnist and a young climber — each brings depth of experience to your reading.
The season’s issue
is online
Top 20 campgrounds everyone’s booking this year, ten new campgrounds opened in 2026, campfire recipes by Élodie, step-by-step solar autonomy with Marc-André, and Adam’s arrival in our adventure pages.
- ◆ Eleven issues per year, free online distribution
- ◆ Over 900 campground listings referenced
- ◆ Over 120 camp recipes tested
